Attendance and Well-Being Programme for schools.
About Us
Impact4Schools specialises in working directly with pupils and their families to enhance school attendance, behaviour, and engagement in learning. Our experienced team, consisting of professionals from diverse backgrounds such as teaching, healthcare, youth work, and social work, is dedicated to addressing all the challenges that pupils and their families may face.
We understand that every family and setting is unique, which is why our approach is highly flexible. We tailor and adapt our services to meet the specific needs of each setting and family. Our interventions are not time-limited, and we collaborate with families to create personalised plans that focus on increasing resilience and independence.
At Impact4Schools we recognise the importance of supporting the entire family beyond the classroom to ensure that children are ready to learn and succeed in school.
Our Programme
The Well-Attended Programme recognises the connection between attendance, behaviour, and student wellbeing, crucial for students' educational journey. This relationship fosters a positive cycle where student wellbeing reinforces attendance, behaviour enhances wellbeing, and attendance fosters positive behaviour.
Our programme consists of:
Our Model
A dedicated Attendance Success Coach works with young people and their families to improve school attendance by breaking down the barriers to education. Our whole family support model, sits at the heart of what we do and works in line with the Working Together to Improve School Attendance guidance, providing a holistic approach to attendance.
Our approach is to:
work closely with students, families, and school staff to identify barriers to regular attendance.
provide personalised support, and implement strategies to encourage positive attendance habits.
offer data-driven interventions and resources to address chronic absenteeism, as well as collaborate with the school to reinforce the importance of attendance.
engage with community organisations and resources to provide additional support for students and families facing attendance challenges.
Mentoring Sessions
Our Attendance Success Coaches engage in weekly sessions with their mentees, focusing on aspects related to attendance, preparation and punctuality, prompting reflection on various key areas, such as:
The connection between parental involvement and academic success is well-supported. Parents play a pivotal role in supporting their children from the beginning, particularly in fostering the implementation of new learning, behaviours, and skills to enhance attendance.
To assist parents in their support of the mentoring process, they receive a comprehensive 'Parent Handbook,' designed to provide valuable guidance and resources.
Our Impact
The impact of Attendance Mentoring is substantial, enabling children to transition from irregular to consistent school attendance while enhancing punctuality and reducing the risks associated with prolonged absences, such as academic underperformance and safeguarding concerns. Beyond these critical outcomes, the program yields additional benefits including:
